Preface

Before we read this "poem", I have to preface.

This is the oldest thing I have that's closest to a poem.

These are a collection of stories (almost all of them are unfinished) about random things.

The only thing that connects these is that I put them in the same document "grass.txt" (based on the first story). They have nothing to do with each other.

I've tried to keep the formatting pretty much as close to the original file, but I can't guarantee that it will be the best formatting (HAH SEE WHAT I DID THERE!)

Again, this is old writing, please don't judge. Thank you very much.

If you're actively seeking this out, then you must be very interested in my poems and I truly thank you for your support.

grass

The grass grows and gets taller each and every day. It grew so much and so tall that it spread out in all other direction, it's only choice was upwards.

So up and up the grass grew, changing in ways beyond imagination, such as growing upon its parent further, just to gain enough height.

Grass was now not merely a plant, but rather an ecosystem. An ecosystem with species, predators and prey. A whole way of living in the ferns and the weeds and the plants.

3/12/24 Vaniana

Vaniana stood at the plateau for a moment, in the gentle wind, realising their achievement. They had just reached the high plateau of Mount Aīna, The Mountain of the

Gods. On top, almost exactly like the descriptions was the temple they had seeked. In the distance, they could see the pale blue colouring of Ina Aīna Nalān, The Gods

Commoner House, and it's square construction. It was at least 3000 years old, but preserved in a way that it looked only 50 years old. Expanding outwards from its

centre was a repeating square pattern, covered by a small amount of water, like a very shallow pool. Vaniana stepped over the lip of the pool and sunk their feet into

the water, becoming drenched. It emanated an unnatural, holy, warmth. Very soon, the clouds began to dissipate and the sun became brighter. They started walking at a

fast, but respectable, pace. Their cloak dragged through the pristine water, becoming saturated, but Vaniana didn't notice, they were on a quest.

The pool continued into the temple. The only part that was outside of the holy water was a small plinth that was used to pray. Vaniana stepped upon the plinth and got

into position like they had rehearsed too many times before. Above the plinth was a medium-sized square opening used as a window, which was repeated on each wall and

on the roof as well.

"I hope this works," whispered Vaniana to themselves. They pl

I ran away to the stars to carve an adventure of my own.

I was dragged down by thoughts and memories I used to know.

Longing for another life, another mind, another world.

Wishing I could live onwards in another universe.

Stars burn my eyes, I wish I could just realise

I'm hopeless and never even gonna get there.

Cold and isolation in all directions. White sheets covering all upward surfaces. The snow had stopped, but the soft, powdery crunch under foot still sounded. It was empty, lifeless, never-ending.
